The magnolia trees in my neighborhood are in bloom and I had no idea the flower was so fragrant. The fragrance character, or flavor, depends on the mix of compounds in each flower, often with a lemony linalool base. Consequently, magnolias can smell like sweet candy, spicy verbena, tart lemon, citrus-honey, or dusty violets.
The trees I found have the citrus-honey fragrance that made photographing the flower a pleasure.
I loved making these images and capturing the elegance of the Magnolia Flower.
I have partnered with a printer in Scotts Valley, California to provide high grade, archival prints.
For black and white imagery my first preference is the Semi Fine Art Paper this is printed on
Canson® Infinity Platine Fibre Rag 310 Gsm
This Semi-Gloss Fine Art Paper Is My Favorite Paper For Making Black & White Prints That Look Like They Came Out Of The Darkroom. 100% Cotton
My second favorite is the Satin or High Gloss Metal Print. Depending on where you are hanging your print determines the finish. High gloss will give you more reflections.
I currently ship within the United States and Canada (contact me directly for international shipping).
